How Jack Got Interested in NLP
In 1985 my wife passed away of cancer and I was devastated. Nearly three years later, in the late spring of 1988, I visited a counselor for some reason I don’t even remember. During our initial discussion the counselor realized that I was still traumatized by my wife’s death and asked me if I would like to work on neutralizing my feelings about that experience so I could function better. I agreed, and in 20 minutes this process changed my life. Very impressed, I asked the counselor what he had just done. Initially he would not be specific, but when I pressed him, he told me he had used an NLP process. I asked what NLP was and after a brief discussion, he mentioned that an NLP Practitioner class would be given that autumn on the campus of San Francisco State University. Impressed with the power of NLP, I immediately enrolled in the course. Although I was employed in the high tech industry, over time I became more and more interested in NLP and personal growth and healing. I went on to take the NLP Master Practitioner course, then got a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology. The MATP is oriented toward counseling, and NLP provides powerful tools to speed the transformation process. Back to aboutus
